Ms. Pawitra Limbu

Founder & Director | Nepal Montessori Training Centre

Ms. Pawitra Limbu is a pioneering educationist, entrepreneur, and teacher trainer who has played a significant role in the development of Montessori and child-centred education in Nepal. Over the course of her career, she has trained thousands of teachers in Montessori curriculum, pedagogy, and English language teaching, and has worked extensively in teacher development, school leadership, and educational institution building.

In 2001, she founded the Nepal Montessori Training Centre (NMTC) in Bijulibazar, establishing Nepal’s first professional training centre specialising in Montessori education. At a time when Montessori education was still relatively new in Nepal, NMTC created a dedicated platform for professional teacher training and contributed to the growth of Montessori practice in the country.

Ms. Limbu has also contributed to the development of international education in Nepal and was instrumental in introducing IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) education. Her professional development includes extensive international exposure through workshops, seminars, and training programmes, including Trainers’ Training at Cambridge, UK, as well as programmes in the USA, Singapore, China, Malaysia, and India.

She currently serves as Director of the Premier Education Network, which encompasses Premier International IB Continuum School, Montessori Kinderworld, Teach & More, and NMTC, and as President of the Nepal Montessori Association.

Her work continues to focus on developing educators, strengthening educational institutions, and promoting learning environments that recognise the child as an active participant in their own development.
